Last Bookclub Session: Lies, Lies, Lies…

It’s amazing how we can live so much of our lives not realizing that our perspective, our filter, is  largely influenced by how we see ourselves. And how we see ourselves isn’t always accurate; in fact, we have probably fallen for a lie or two along the way without even realizing it.

Today we wrap up our He Dances With Me bookclub sessions together, and I just want to thank you for participating in this with me. It’s been pretty cool to talk this way and get to know some of you, and your stories. The video is a tad bit longer today, but I hope that won’t deter you from watching. Don’t forget to post your thoughts in the reply section below!

  1. Good Morning Sheavaun, I’m going to miss our Saturday am meetings. Good timing though, we are gone for the next 2 Saturdays. We are taking our family on a holiday, experience some warmer weather (hopefully).
These last few weeks has allowed me to look back, remember, and take note of important steps that God has brought me through. But it has also helped me to evaluate where I’m at with Him at this moment, to look to the now, and to see where I can improve in my communication with Him.
Thanks so much for sharing your story and holding this book club. I too believe that we can learn from eachother, by sharing our stories and help others perhaps. Someone once said, “don’t waste your sorrows”. God can and does use our stories to bring people through some tough times.
I need to get more coffee. I’ll be back in a minute. lol
Ok, about lies! Wow, why do we allow lies to be our truth, when we have a loving Father who is dying (died) to tell us the truth and who wants to love us and thinks the world of us? Well its never too late to accept the truth is it? And when we stop and allow God to show up it’s amazing!

This week this was my prayer after God showed up in my quiet time!

    God Reveals Himself!
Lord, thank You for what we can know about You through the various encounters we read in the Bible. Lord, I want to be prepared in my heart to hear Your voice when You speak.

    Devotion read:
I am with you and for you. You face nothing alone—nothing! When you feel anxious, know that you are focusing on the visible world and leaving Me out of the picture. The remedy is simple: Fix your eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen. Verbalize your trust in Me, the Living One who sees you always. I will get you safely through this day and all your days. But you can find Me only in the present. Each day is a precious gift from My Father. How ridiculous to grasp for future gifts when today’s is set before you! Receive today’s gift gratefully, unwrapping it tenderly and delving into its depths. As you savor this gift, you find Me.

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
    —Romans 8:31

This was an amazing journey with you! I loved every minute. I’m not opposed of you sending videos once in a while just to see how your

    1. Love it Joan! Thank you for your input every week, it’s been wonderful. I agree with you wholeheartedly, and it’s so very cool to see how God shows up in your life.
I think you can be sure there will be future videos, but we’ll play that by ear! Have a great weekend!
